As he unboxes, removes shrinkwrap, examines the slipcase and belly band, and pages deliberately through both volumes in the Taschen 2017 reprint of Richard Avedon and James Baldwin’s 1964 book, Nothing Personal. And with the exception of some muttering at 11:41 of a 12 minute and 10 second video, offers no commentary whatsoever. No voice-over, no ad lib pontificating. Just a simple act of encountering a book, with some deep background ambient noise to make it all seem entirely everyday. As our lives with photobooks should be.
